The nations railroads, related federal, state, and local governments, business, railroad suppliers, labor, civic and community leaders and other concerned safety professionals are all part of the Operation Lifesaver program.
The Operation Lifesaver program seeks to educate both drivers and pedestrians to make safe decisions at railroad crossings and to avoid trespassing on railroad tracks and railroad property.
Operation Lifesaver's mission is to end collisions, deaths and injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and along railroad rights of way. Operation Lifesaver Authorized Volunteer (OLAV) presenters provide free presentations on rail safety.
